London based stylist and creative director Matt King, from the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. Was drawn to the city by the diverse fashion, nightlife and music scenes, as well as the freedom of expression that comes with it. Since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2009 he has developed work across fashion, film, music and performance. Commissioned by publications including British Vogue, Dazed and Nowness, and working closely with musicians Anna Calvi, Ashnikko, Brooke Candy, Shygirl, Tom Odell and Zebra Katz, to name a few.
King’s connection to underground culture has lead to a unique sense of style that mixes an authentic blend of music, fashion and club culture references. His signature aesthetic is recognisable for its minimalistic and clean execution, with a punk attitude throughout.
He is co-founder of SORT: A multidisciplinary studio focused on independent film with annual print publication at its core.
SORT is born out of London's queer club community and celebrates underground culture through collaborations with like-minded artists, brands, musicians and publications. www.sort-studio.co.uk
